In 2008, Electra invested €36 million in the acquisition of a 51% limited partnership interest in Steadfast Capital Fund I GmbH; through this investment Electra has a €21 million investment in MPS (Meat Processing Systems).
Based in the Netherlands, MPS is the global leader in the manufacture of abattoir equipment and employs 400 people worldwide.
In the year to 31 December 2009 MPS generated sales of over €60 million and profits ahead of its budget and prior year. Cashflow continues to be strong and has facilitated a refinancing of the business and an investment in Butina, a manufacturer of carbon dioxide stunning equipment.
